No Visa's. Two positions area available for an Internist.
#1: To replace an Internist who took an academic position and another who left the community, The hospital will recruit one or more Internal Medicine physician/s who will be employed, joining two experienced Internists in a hospital-owned practice. Position is office-based only; inpatients are referred to hospitalists. Call 1 in 3. Salary $165,000 to $175,000.
#2: An experienced, female, solo DO Family Medicine physician needs to recruit a colleague to facilitate her transition into part-time work and then retirement. As this doctor’s practice includes teenage through geriatric patients, and obstetrics is not included, an Internist also can be considered. A PA performs manipulations so this is not a requirement for the new physician. Call 1 in 2. Salary $140,000 to $160,000.
Financial:
- Starting base salary or net income guarantee will be competitive and is expected to be within the ranges shown; however, other adjustments may be made to reflect market factors and individual candidate qualifications. Compensation shown is for full-time practice, defined as a minimum of 40 hours/week for 48 weeks/year and meeting MGMA benchmarks for productivity in terms of patient contacts, etc. Doctors joining established practices can expect bonuses based on productivity and partnership in one-two years with a nominal buy-in. Hospital-employed physicians will receive productivity-based bonuses plus hospital-provided malpractice insurance and benefits.

A JCAHO-accredited, award-winning, secondary hospital is ranked in the top 5% nationally for patient safety. EMR and CPOE are in place. The service area for primary care is about 188,000 and for specialty care is over 327,000. Six primary care hospitals are in the specialty service area. A senior regional analyst for the Institute for Employment Research notes that the Western Michigan economy is stronger than in other areas of the state and reports that the local economic forecast is better for 1009-10 than in 2008. Employee re-training, downtown revitalization and industry diversification are ongoing. The cost-of-living is about 76% of the national average.
