Great opportunity for a BC Family Practice Physician with proven ER skills and experience acceptable for this position. One physician per 12-hour shift; single shifts preferred; double shifts an exception; PA’s in Walk in Care between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Shifts run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.; the physician should arrive at 6:30 a.m. for the day shift, and 5:30 p.m. for the night shift. The Emergency department is not responsible for monitoring/supervising paramedics or ambulances. This is a level II trauma medical center. The current annual volume is 19,000 visits with about 15% peds, 30% is geriatric and less than 1% is OB. There are 11 single rooms with 11 beds in the ER department and 3 to 4 patients per RN. The percentage that is admitted through the ED is 80%. This ER department has an impressive reputation and was renovated in 2006, known for demonstrating compassion wrapped in technology, and available and approachable leadership.
