The Veterans Administration in Hot Springs, South Dakota is seeking a locum Psychiatrist. This position with start as soon as the right candidate can be credentialed and continue for three to four months. The duties will entail provision of standard Psychiatric care to outpatients and Domiciliary residents. The population involves mostly patients with substance use disorders and/or PTSD. Each of these duties is almost half-time. There will be some time necessary to respond to consults, e.g. pertaining to medical patients. A SD medical license is not required for this opportunity. For this position, Locum Medical will provide your airfare, rental car, furnished apartment and malpractice insurance.

South Dakota - Psychiatry

The VA is in need of a locum tenens Psychiatrist for their facility in Fort Meade, South Dakota. The assignment will begin as soon as the physician can be credentialed and will continue for at least three months with possible extensions. An SD medical license is not required, only a valid state medical license is needed. Your airfare, rental car, furnished apartment and malpractice insurance will be provided.

South Dakota - Psychiatry Position Available in South Dakota

ADULT PSYCHIATRIST - Western South Dakota.

• Adult outpatient services
• 80% or more time doing outpatient services and hospital consults
• Caseload: 8 to 10 ppd to include outpatient and consults
• General psychiatric disorders with some PTSD cases
• Evaluations – Assessments – medication management
• 20% or less covering 100/Bed Domiciliary Residential Setting
• Census never goes higher than 80 – Length of Stay is 80 days
• Treatment for Substance Abuse and Vocational Rehab
• Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00a – 4:30p
• May be asked to take very minimal call – at most 1 or 2 times a month
• Opportunity begins February, 2009

South Dakota - Psychiatry Position Available in South Dakota

GENERAL ADULT PSYCHIATRY - Western South Dakota.
Outpatient services. Evaluations – Assessments – Medication Management.
Caseload: 6 to 10 ppd.
• Support Staff: Unit Secretary, Outpatient Clerk, Admin Officer, RN, Psychologists, Social Workers
• Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
• Call is required – and is not an option
• Call: 1:4 (weeknight and weekends)
• Call: Call is 98% by telephone – Over course of 1 year provider is called in 2%
• Weekend Call: Provider is required to round on 10/bed inpatient unit – average census is 6 or lower and is on call remainder of weekend. Average length of stay on inpatient unit is 7 days.
• Any state license is acceptable for this VA assignment
Need is immediate and ongoing while recruiting to hire perm.
