Locum Tenens - Psychiatry Position Available in South Dakota

GENERAL ADULT PSYCHIATRY - Western South Dakota.
Outpatient services. Evaluations – Assessments – Medication Management.
Caseload: 6 to 10 ppd.
• Support Staff: Unit Secretary, Outpatient Clerk, Admin Officer, RN, Psychologists, Social Workers
• Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
• Call is required – and is not an option
• Call: 1:4 (weeknight and weekends)
• Call: Call is 98% by telephone – Over course of 1 year provider is called in 2%
• Weekend Call: Provider is required to round on 10/bed inpatient unit – average census is 6 or lower and is on call remainder of weekend. Average length of stay on inpatient unit is 7 days.
• Any state license is acceptable for this VA assignment

South Dakota - Physician - Psychiatry

Join group of 17 psychiatrists practicing at NEW Behavioral Health Center Seeking a board eligible or board certified psychiatrist to join Avera University Psychiatry Associates, a group of 17 psychiatrists, 5 psychologists, 2 nurse practitioners, 1 physician assistant, and 3 social workers. The providers are employed by the Hospital & University Health Center and receive a generous benefit package. Duties include comprehensive treatment of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings and the teaching and supervising of medical students, general psychiatry residents and child & adolescent psychiatry residents. Research experience is desirable. The Health Center, a 110-bed inpatient facility was built in 2006 and features programs to care for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. The Health Center is also home to the Institute for Human Behavioral Genetics, which includes research scientists, a genetics lab dedicated to psychiatry, advanced technological capabilities for genetic research, and a CyP450 machine for liver enzyme testing. There is also a strong emphasis on telepsychiatry and interactive distance learning services. Our facility is a Magnet Hospital and a Distinguished Clinical Hospital.

Duties include comprehensive treatment of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The clinic is located in a new medical office building that is attached to the Behavioral Health Center, a new 110-bed inpatient facility that was built in 2006 and features programs to care for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. The providers are employed by the Hospital & University Health Center and receive a generous benefit package that includes loan forgiveness.
